I started HA1C because I have to deal with a lot of crap because of diabetes. It something not everyone has to go through, but those who have it know how hard it can be at time. I felt like I was missing something in my treatment of my disease, and that I lacked the community support from Diabetics who know how I feel. I also felt it was important that I stay on top of the latest information and news about Diabetes.
And I wanted a place to vent my misery so I don’t have to feel so bad about having this disease anymore.
I also wanted to help other diabetics do something proactive about their illness. It’s bad enough having to deal with the daily regimen, but not being able to do anything to escape this fate is even worse. My only diabetic friend Lindsay told me a terrifying story about her hardships with diabetes, and I want to empower her, and all other diabetics to do something about it.
Plus, the scientists working on a cure need our help. They need people for clinical trials, they need donations of money and even tissue.
I believe we can find a cure, and I believe it will happen soon. I really hope that all this is a big waste of my time, and that I will wake up in the morning to a cure. Until then, I will fight until this whole nightmare is over with.
